vintage skateboard helmets...

lately, anything "Old School" Skateboarding has been golden...for instance, mid 80's Skateboard Decks, still in the shrinkwrap, have recently been commanding prices similar to that of high-end American Pop Art...these colorful decks, in Mint Condition, easily and consistantly bring $500-$2000...along with the decks, prices for vintage Skateboarding T-Shirts, shoes and clothing is also on the rise...when prices hit this level, I try to pay attention, however, this one's a no-brainer as I have been skating since 1972...the first helmet made specifically for skateboarding was the Cooper SK100...this was originally a low end, youth style Hockey Helmet, made in Canada, that also found a niche in the skateboard market...most of these helmets date around the mid 70's to the mid 80' attention, they aren't terribly rare, but always hammer-down at $150-$350...a good days pay in my book!
