todays Thrift Score...
today's "Thrift Score" isn't Denim, it isn't Triple Stitched, and it isn't Union Made...sometimes while hunting Antique Threads in some of my regular vintage digs, I come across items that are too cool and too valuable to pass up (hey, a guy has to make a living)...these Vintage Air Jordan kicks are like new and will fetch top dollar!...these are the super-hard to find Air Jordan 12's "The Two3" or "the FluShoe"...this rare colorway (Red/Black) was carried by Michael Jordan in game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals...Michael carried his team to victory with 38 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals in this hardly seen color while being totally ILL with Influenza...Magic Shoes in my book!

vintage Duffel bags...American Folk Art...
this post was inspired by the recent Mister Freedom Ad for Vintage Chino Pants...the Mister Freedom Ad photos had that genuine "man returning from the Sea" meets Steve McQueen back after the "Great Escape" feel thing going on...
my thoughts then turned to some of the AMAZING Military Duffel Bags that I have seen recently on the internet...these canvas bags personally customized by soldiers and sailors alike have been gaining momentum in the Vintage Market...Vintage Clothing Collectors, Military Treasure Hunters and Folk Art Dealers are all pushing the value of these "one of a kind" custom artworks to new levels...these photos, are just a few examples that I have collected and tagged recently off the internet, enjoy!...and for more of the Highest Quality vintage inspired mens clothing visit misterfreedom.com ...

vintage skateboard helmets...
lately, anything "Old School" Skateboarding has been golden...for instance, mid 80's Skateboard Decks, still in the shrinkwrap, have recently been commanding prices similar to that of high-end American Pop Art...these colorful decks, in Mint Condition, easily and consistantly bring $500-$2000...along with the decks, prices for vintage Skateboarding T-Shirts, shoes and clothing is also on the rise...when prices hit this level, I try to pay attention, however, this one's a no-brainer as I have been skating since 1972...the first helmet made specifically for skateboarding was the Cooper SK100...this was originally a low end, youth style Hockey Helmet, made in Canada, that also found a niche in the skateboard market...most of these helmets date around the mid 70's to the mid 80's...pay attention, they aren't terribly rare, but always hammer-down at $150-$350...a good days pay in my book!
