thrift score...

nice little score today...this is a Vietnam Era "Tiger Stripe" camo shirt...while doing my research, I found that there were over 25 different patterns and variations of Tiger Stripe worn during the Vienam War...this pattern is called "golden" or the "Advisors Dense"...lucky me, as this turned out to be one of the more Rare patterns!...

Thrift Score...what is it?

scored this neat little Ammo Pouch this past weekend at the Preston Court Days Festival...looks like 1940s Era Duck Canvas with tons of Stitching, a very cool Crown Zipper and Brass Hardware...I'm guessing this little cutie is meant to be worn around the waist like a "Fanny Pack"?...so what about the chords?...any ideas?...there are four loops on either side of the pouch...

currently on ebay...

if you like your Denim "well done", you'll really dig these items currently on Ebay...tons of DISTRESS and loaded with CHARACTER...

don't forget yer rubbers...

one of my recent "Thrift Scores" included several pairs of work shoes, boots, pants and even mens Vintage Underwear all "New Old Stock"...somehow I ended up with a very OLD pair of Rubber Overshoes as well...at first I wasn't too pyched on these as I was expecting to find a nice pair of vintage work boots inside the box...on second look I noticed some pretty interesting details...there is Wing Tip design on the toe and the soles have a very "Machine Age" heavy duty Industrial Design...these rubber slip-ons appear very Work-Man looking, sorta look like something worn on an old fishing boat...even the inside details are worth a look...they are fully lined with colored canvas bonded to the molded rubber shell...I'm guessing these Rubbers to be 1940's as was most of the rest of the haul...to make a long story short, I was gonna toss these, and then on second thought, I figured I'd give 'em a try on Ebay...we will see if the collectors bite...
added 11//18 haha, no bites!

best wishes to my son Zach as he heads to LasVegas to compete in the Mountain Dew Action Sports Tour...

Rebel Without a Cause...the James Dean Red "Rebel" Jacket...

today I spotted this Vintage Baracuta Jacket on Ebay...the seller missed an opportunity to include the words James Dean in his listing...although the argument rages on, many credit the Red Baracuta Jacket as the co-star of the 1950s classic "Rebel Without a Cause"...others credit the MacGregor "Anti-Freeze" Jacket, while still other experts claim the jacket was Custom Made...regardless, the Red Baracuta is a hard-to-find item and should fetch a nice profit!
